Born in Minden, Nebraska 1942

 

Moved to Colorado and lived in

          Platteville – 1946-52

          Julesburg – 1953-55

          Sterling – 1956-59

          Pueblo – 1960

Graduated from Pueblo Centennial High School 1960

 

Attended the University of Denver 1960-1965

          Traveled through Europe on USO tour 1963

          Studied composition with Normand Lockwood

          Graduated with BM in music composition

 

Attended Cornell University 1965-1968

          Studied composition with Robert Palmer

                             ad Karel Husa

          Music history with Donald Grout

          Traveled to Southeast Asia with the Cornell

                    Glee club as the assistant director

          Graduated in 1968 with MA in music composition

 

Taught general music at middle school in Monticello, NY

          1968-69

Married to Judy Rawski Dec. 1968

 

Attended State University of New York at Buffalo 1969-74

          Studied composition with Lejaren Hiller and Morton

                    Feldman

          Began learning programming and started to work with

                    computers and music and electronic music
